Hard Rock Launches NLOP Partner Poker Site; Will Host Players Championship in Poker Lounge in Las Vegas, Aug. 1
LAS VEGAS, April 3, 2009….Zen Gaming’s National League of Poker (NLOP.com), the leading, free-to-play social gaming web site, kicked off its “Live Across America” No Limit Texas Hold’em poker tournaments March 28 with first-round action in Baton Rouge, La. Eleven additional free, live NLOP poker tournaments are scheduled leading up to the first NLOP Players Championship tournament, Saturday, Aug. 1, in the new Poker Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The first and second place winners in each “Live Across America” tournament will qualify to play in the Players Championship. They will join over 100 online qualifiers for the chance to win over $30,000 in tournament cash and prizes.
So its players can get in on the action, the Hard Rock also announced that it has become NLOP.com’s newest partner with the launch of its partner poker site on the NLOP.com platform. Hard Rock poker players can now subscribe and play in tournaments for points, cash and prizes valued at more than $75,000 per month and can qualify for the Players Championship.
“NLOP.com is a friendly, social network, which is why we invite as many of our more than 300,000 players to participate in Live Across America when it comes to their area of the country, or to join in the Players Championship qualifiers online,” said Vincent Zaldivar, president of Zen Gaming, NLOP.com’s Las Vegas-based parent company. “We want to continue to build the reach of our poker community and get more people involved. And, there is still plenty of time. Qualifiers for the Players Championship are being held throughout the year on NLOP.com and we will have over 50 seats to be won.”
On Saturday, Aug. 1, NLOP’s top 100 players will battle it out in a no-limit Texas Hold’em format for a $20,000 grand prize and more than $30,000 in total cash and prizes. Registration is now open on NLOP.com for the NLOP Live Across America tournaments. The schedule resumes May 2 at the Double Decker Poker League at Side Pockets in Kansas City, MO, and May 3 at The Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs in Tampa Bay, FL. On May 16, tournament action will be at Denham Springs Bingo City in Denham Springs, LA, followed by May 23, Turtle Creek Casino, Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse, MI; June 7, The Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs; June 13, Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, CT; June 20, Double Deuce Poker League in Kansas City, MO; June 27, Double Deuce Poker League in Grand Junction, CO; July 11, Denham Springs in Baton Rouge, LA, and two dates to be determined at Harrah’s Casino in Tunica, MS, and the Daytona Beach Kennel Club in Dayton Beach, Fla.
