Harvey, his Father, & his Grandmother
My name is Harvey Reed, aka Teflon_Don, I am 23 years old, from Johnson City, Tennessee. I won the week 10 electronics championship, on february 17th... 742 people entered in, and it was one of the most thrilling moments of my poker life... So many times I have made final tables only to fall short of winning.
The NBA All-star game was on during the tourny, and I had to disregard it in order to weave my way through the mine field of both loose plays and solid players... At one point in the tourney, when I was floating around 3000 in chips, I actually said "No one enters these things actually thinking they are going to win...". It was like I went into cruise control after that.
Going into the final table, I didnt have the stack I needed so I had to hope for the best, and pick a hand before the blind. J9 straightened me out with a 4 player pot, giving me breathing room. The final hand, I had J 6 off suit in the big blind, and the small blind limped in with ace 9. The flop fell 9 j 4, and I decided to check raise. When he called, I wasnt very happy. My jacks held up. Funny thing, you look for aces all night and jack 6 is the breadwinner.
He won an apple Ipod touch, so I dont think he was too upset. First place happened to be a 20 inch LCD HDTV, which is fantastic considering the following circumstances... My grandmothers 14 year old television finally died on her like a week before the tourney....So on mothers day, if NLOP is able to get it shipped to me by then, my grannie will have a better TV than me! Very nice timing, much needed win.
Attached is a picture of my afore-mentioned grandmother, myself, and my father in the Grand casino at Biloxi... my first visit, to a casino, a week after my 21st birthday...Anyways, thanks for the thrills NLOP, and for the free play with big pay!
